Where My Story Begins?

Hello,
I am Kristina Radovanovic.
I’ve been thinking about writing a blog for a long time, but due to lack of time, I kept putting it off for two years. Now, here I am, beginning my story on a plane to Italy. With an eight-hour flight ahead of me, I thought this would be the perfect way to start my vacation and fill my free time meaningfully.
Long flights like this can often feel a bit boring, as you need to find something to occupy yourself with (people usually forget to plan for this amidst the rush of obligations and packing), so they either end up sleeping or focusing on the program already offered on the screen in front of them. For me, though, this flight created an even greater sense of excitement.
In the blue folder in the picture, I have a few college-related documents, around 30 blank A4 papers, and my favorite uni-ball pen (three, just in case). I prefer uni-ball pens that are similar to fountain pens, as they’re lighter to hold and write with a fine line. Even though I have my laptop in my backpack, I still prefer a nicely bound notebook and paper, so that’s how I wanted to start my blog – with a pen in hand, waiting for coffee on the plane. The idea of blogging first came to me two years ago, when I moved to Canada. I noticed that social networks like Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube are more popular, where people prefer to share snapshots of their daily lives. Even though some people think that blogging is outdated and "old school," I decided to stick with it, because writing fulfills me presently. Ironically, essay writing wasn’t my strong suit in school – I would often copy my older sister’s compositions. I was probably more focused on my hobbies back then, like volleyball and training every other day.
Moving to Canada on June 11, 2022, was definitely a turning point in almost every aspect of my life.
After searching for adequate platforms and tips on how to get started, I found out that it is best to decide on one topic to write about. However, it is a little more difficult for me to choose an adequate topic that would include everything that I would like to share with you. I would refer briefly to my biography, but I would prefer to write about my hobbies, traveling with my spouse, cooking and decorations.
Considering that we had lunch already in the first half hour of the flight (which I did not expect), the long-awaited dose of coffee arrived quickly, so I settled down comfortably and continued my journey and writing.
